    Hey folks

Need a little help with omega and the gerber edge.

If I am correct in saying with Gerber omega and the edge, it doesn’t matter if an image is multilayered, omega will flatten it while it prints it. So to avoid any gapping caused by registration, sometimes it helps to set up bleeds or traplines.

However, I want to add a shadow to a flag, which will probably be black with a 50 Transparency set and superimpose it over the image. Now, how do I stop omega flattening the image before print and thus creating the shadow layer as part of the background, as I want the transparent layer superimposed over the flag?

    Thanks in advance

    Neil

You don’t say if the transparency is an image or a vector file 😕

    Neil,

Set your top shadow (be it a vector or a bitmap, no difference), as an overprint (keyboard shortcut is ctrl + F6) and on top of all other objects.

If you have the latest 2.51 version, you can check the actual print by previewing the spool file in gspplot, by click on "save to spool file" under the file menu in gspplot, from there choose "include in spool file: print information" and "view spool file", this will then prompt you a location to save the spool file, and automatically will open a new window which allows you to view what the Edge will actually print.

    Hope it’s of help!

    Regards,

    GeoZ
