what are the photoshop cs2 shortcuts please?
Posted by Hugh Potter on 23 October 2006 at 19:11hi all, my laptop came back to me minus it’s photoshop 6, the guy said my disk wouldnt load, i only ever used it fo viewing eps files and screen captures, however, in light of this, he loaded his copy of cs2 on here, now i’m only really interested in two things,
how do i screen capture, i used to just shift +c and then right click on the screen shot i wanted, and drag a box over it, simple, how do i do that now ? doesnt seem anything obvious in the help files (i even looked this time !!lol)
also, how do i just browse my eps clip art stuff, ok, just sussed the browse option !

if I’m not mistaken the screen capture is a function of the operating system such as WinXP or OSX and not a function of Photoshop however you can view a screen capture in Photoshop or widows explorer.

dont know about cs2 but corel has a separate programme to load that does as you say

thanks derf, the win xp thing is just a screen capt as far as i’ve so far discovered, i dont want to send the customer a jpeg of the whole screen,
thanks anyways
Chris, with photo7, (might be 6) i just press shift+c and ps minimises and lets me grab what i want, the size i want, is this similar to what you’re talking of ? i have corel 12.

On the MAC you can isolate an area to capture, so I assume on windows you could do the same (?)

quote Hugh Potter:thanks derf, the win xp thing is just a screen capt as far as i’ve so far discovered, i dont want to send the customer a jpeg of the whole screen
Under Windows, a screen capture is performed by:
- [Print Scrn] – Capture the entire raster display (i.e., the entire monitor display)
- [Alt + Print Scrn] – Capture the active window only
Under Mac OSX, a screen capture is performed by:
- [Shift + Command + 3] = Capture entire screen
- [Shift + Command + 4] = Click and drag to capture marquee
- [Shift + Command + 4] = Press [Space] to toggle a "camera" icon, and then click to capture the given window
Cheers,

thanks Rod, that works too !
i’ve just been doing a screen capt, but i hate sending the customer everything on view,
i think i’ll see if i can get photoshop 6 again, of figure out why mine wont load, with that i used a short cut of shift+c and the screen minimised, i then right clicked which gave me a cross, with which to draw a box around the target image, much neater and cleaner than a whole window !
thanks anyways though guys.

Can’t you just do a Print Scrn and then paste the image into Photoshop and crop it?
-
that’s what I was thinking but it cant be that simple surely?
-
thanks steve !
James, it is !
Autosign, thanks, dunno why i didnt do that, guess when i first loked at cs2 it was so different from corel and my old version that i hadnt a clue with it, the only reason i like the old way of doing it, was because it was so simple, i make the object on the corel page the size i want (in view), and just capture it, not resizing or cropping requred !
still, this way works now, just have to get used to it !! thanks for all your help guys !
