    Hello

Has anybody one of this UV printer?
I’m looking for someone who has it and tell me the day by day working. I see it printing at sign, but I want some customer experience.

    Thanks

Hi – we’ve got one but not yet up and running. We took our files to Gerber and spent all day testing it – excellent results. Will keep you posted when engineer has been!

Hi, especially Angel who was asking about this machine, we’ve had our Solara up and running now for a couple of weeks and apart from a small hardware glitch it has been very impressive, runs all day, seems economical on ink, easy to use and it’s probably almost paid for itself! Steve Pridham and the team at Gerber are very helpful and solved our glitch problem over the phone. We have yet to try other materials apart from foamex as the machine has been so busy. Any of you that saw it at the Gerber Open Day must have been impressed!

hi andrew, what sort of price is this machine mate? what software are you using with it, and does it come with its own software? have been looking at the spandex website but no price. are the running costs reasonable?
    cheers,
    matt

Matt the UK price is going to be completely different to the price over there in Spain, you would be better contacting spandex direct for a price as they will be able to tell you what it’s going to cost.

hi martin, i always like to compare the prices with those in the uk and spain as sometimes its better to get items in the uk and then i can take them over to spain. with the currency exchange and deals with companies its always best to see all options. i’ve done it before and its worked out good for me. sometimes i get a better deal here though, so just wanted to know what price it was in the uk and then i can find out the price and deal here.
    thanks martin,
    matt

Hi guys – we bought for about £33k, comes with onyx rip which we’ve upgraded, running costs are really good – cartridges seem to last really well, running cost are about £2.50p/metre + substrate so we can charge about £30p/m. No real problems, Spandex are helpful – I’d check out the after sales/backup in Spain.

hi andrew, thanks for the reply mate. here we were quoted around 60+ euros which is abit of a difference!! its always handy to find out the different prices as we want the best deal we can get! did the same thing with our edge fx, we contacted spandex here in spain and in the uk. it was cheaper here, just though. thanks again andrew.

Matt I can see why you would want to compare prices, always a good idea if you can but if you bought it over here would you get the same after sales support. I know in theory you should as its the same company but things don’t always work out as they should.
Mind you at least you can go back to them armed with the knowledge that you can buy it cheaper in the UK and ask them to come up with a better price for you.

hi martin, i’ve been told that as long as its under warrenty etc and i have proof of purchase etc etc then i should get the same after sales support. as you said, it is the same company! its amazing the difference in price, 60+ euros is around 48-49 thousand pounds, compared with the 33 andrew paid! thats alot of difference for the same machine! and i believe it works out even cheaper in the usa! just goes to show its well worth asking around for deals, i’ve saved alot of money over the years doing this.
