    Hi folks.
This past July, the All-Star baseball game was held in Pittsburgh.
Our mayor had a clean-up committee to beautify the city for the game.
A group hosted a contest whereby decorated stars would be hung throughout the Forbes and Fifth Avenue corridor.
One of my designs was chosen.
In July I got to go downtown and meet the mayor, and all the participants get to go to a Pirates baseball game next month.
The site showcasing the stars is finally up.
You can vote on your favorite.
Some of them are quite gorgeous.
Mine is in section "I" and is #24, in case you like it.
After you vote you get an odd pop-up (at least I did)
I doubt that mine will win, and I don’t know what the prize is.
But I thought I’d share this.
Mine is the only one that looks like a sign for some reason… 😕
    love…..Jill

Jill I will vote for yours, can we do it online, or do I need to come over there?

    hi jill,

    what is a pierogy!?!

sorry couldn´t find it on the website. do like your star. looks bright. why did you put that shading bit on the creme colored part in the background though? i guess that is a pierogy? please forgive my foolishness!

certainly is dynamic. suits the american sports grafics. which i really like too. tried playing baseball – didn´t get far – didn´t have the time, with a family.
wish you the best of luck,

    bernardo

    Thanks Peter!
I like your new pic too.
A pierogi is pasta filled with mashed potatoes and they can also be mixed with cheese, onions, sauerkraut. You boil them, then pan-fry in butter with onions.
    They are a polish dish.
Altho I myself have no poish ancestry, Pittsburgh is a veritable melting pot of cultures.
The pierogi is a big thing here.
The picture I posted doesn’t do them justice.
And yes, that thing in the background of my star is a pierogi!
We even have characters at the ball games who are dressed as pierogies.
    love….jill
(odd fact here, a Letterhead I know emailed me, his cousin designed the flaming baseball stars that I think are #1 and #2!)

Ah Polish…. we just had 555,000 poles move to England, so we may see more of the pierogies on the supermarket shelves.
