no worries rob i have a thick day all week and go mad at the weekend.
customer had brown reversed vinyl on inside of door opening times etc and then covered with etched vinyl. just behind this is a security grill before the etch was applied you could not see the times etc.
originally it was just reversed out of the etch vinyl pic posted in members
i have redone this twice. not complaining good payer.
i have an offcut of 2mm clear acrylic the plan being etch the acrylic and apply the vinyl then fix to the window much easier when they change the times etc to just remove the panel.and redo the vinyl.
any clearer or have i made it worse 🙄

ive edited your post and loaded it here now mate….

    ssooo….

    the grill must stay!

you CAN remove grill to fit vinyls?

You must be able to change details from time to time?

is the idea to hide the grill when the window is being viewed from outside or just to get the times seen better by backing in etch?

i think i might be adding to the confusion 😳 :lol1:

    aye the grill must stay
also the grill is removable to fit vinyls
and they have changed the details 3 times in the last 2 months
and both for the last question
if there is an easier cost effective option good all round
so fire away while i fill me glass
    cheers

this may not sound the best way, but its a good alternative depending on the look they are after.

we had a shop owner with a BIG window. bottom half had to be blocked out with details on it too… top half clear. it was basically to hide what was behind his counter seen from the street.
we used correx as he didn’t want to pay much and it had to be light to get out and change with special offers. it was an 8×4 and only costs about £5 a sheet… so we would lay up the details/offer and sit it in his window with a few 1inch squares of Velcro holding in place. i haven’t changed it in over a year but its still there today…

another customer similar idea to yours wanted same… this time i used HIPs plastic… its about 4’x2′ or there about… has a gloss face and is only about 2mm very cheap to buy.

both these materials will BLOCK seeing the grill… make the details very clear and ide imagine the grill itself will hold the corex in place.

if its just opening times that change or one section. apply graphics, block out with solid silver or a colour. then leave an border space in the vinyl panel area where the details "that change" will go. so when changing you just whip off the little section each time and replace that. we do this all the time with chip shop menus.

hope that babble made sense? 😕
