Registration marks types
Posted by Michal Witkowski on 16 August 2006 at 13:02Hello 🙂
I`m working on Mimaki CG-130FX cutter and using SignLab 7.1.
I`m interested if type of registration marks have influence on cutting accuracy?
If yes – which? 🙂It`s my first "branch" question, so please don`t eat me 🙂
greetings

the marks dont have any influence on the accuracy of the cut, they are just like any other shape as for as the plotter is concerned.

as peter says…
also.. some may find one type of reg mark helps them align test/graphics onto a substrate better than others. i prefer a line, some prefer cross hair etc
there is a video demo i done on this in the video tutorial section… -
so I can`t say anything else that I`ve been expecting answer like this 🙂
thanks very much 🙂

Hi Michal,
It’s an understandable question, and Peter is correct to state that the choice of registration mark does not affect the cutting accuracy.
Look in the Operator’s Manual for your Mimaki and consider what they recommend for style of registration mark. If your cutter has an optical eye that is used to automatically recognize registration marks, then choose that style of registration mark in SignLab.

Michal, would you like to clarify your procedure?

Robert: simple cutting – not important what material I`m cutting.
I`m trying to find what parameters (speed, pressure, reg marks, roll or leaf cutting) have influence on cutting properties – especially acurancy.
thanks for Yours replies 🙂

Robert, my apologies for confusing the matter by thinking it was printing and cutting.
