    Dear all,

I’m a bit confused with this one, have a job of covering lots of
glass panels which run down a staircase in a shopping centre.

Architect wants pantone 118 or deep wine red colour, but wants it almost see through 😕

Only thing I can think of is a window tint film, but would I obtain it in or near the colour required? Never really dealt in window tints

Nearest thing I’ve seen is the ruby stencil film thats the effect he needs.

It’s an off the shelf product as they had some in another shopping centre although in different colours.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Martin

There are some nice translucent vinyls out there.
I have them in my Gerber, Arlon, Oracal, and Trim USA color charts.
Would they not be see-thru enough?
I’ve only ever used them on lexan panels.
They are not cheap, so charge accordingly.
    love….Jill

Martin, Avery do transparent vinyl, but getting a pantone match may be difficult.

In the past, I’ve digiprinted clear cast, and got a pretty good result, it is see thru with a hint of colour.

Perhaps that is an idea? Interior designers are in a world of their own mate. Like most landscape designers, they design lovely gardens, but it is usually impossible to mow the lawn 🙄

    Georgio me man,
just asked them for a swatch and if that is the stuff which it seems to be, I’m going to drive up there and give you a big snoggg! 😛

Jill, good to see you back from your Disney vacation.

We went down the transluscent vinyl rought but it had to be much clearer.

    Many Thanks

    Martin

Shane, I suggested printing on clear. But the guy said it was off the shelf stuff.

The good thing is he realises it wont be an exact pantone match so he’s going for a deep red/burgundy, so there is a chance.

Your right, designers often don’t live in a real practical world.

I’ll phone Avery for a swatch aswell.

Glad to hear that cheque cleared :thumbup2:
