hi all only allowed to drill into the mortar so ran four holes evenly spaced in the top bracket so i could fix into the horizontal line of mortar.
the bottom bracket i had to mark and drill where the vertical joins were
bit of a pain really up and down the ladders (still waiting for a hip replacement) and another shoulder op.
had the trays done locally for two trays 140 plus the vat.
plus the brackets. which were the only let down as they were kinked.
and this made the job a pain i will be looking for some decent Ali angle to stock up on as i hope to do a few more of these.
i am hoping to do these as a stock item in that size and perhaps a bit bigger so i can do most of the work in the workshop, pre drilling and a template for the wall so its much quicker.
as rob and many have said easier to do the job in the workshop where you have all the gear than have to go back and forth.
i really need one of those belts with hammer drill phone screws tape measure pockets.
to be on the safe side i used pop rivets for the tray to the bracket and a couple of self tappers top and bottom.
don’t know if its been mentioned before but noticed a sign a while ago with big rusty streaks from behind the sign on an abandoned site so i had a look and the brackets were bare steel angle.
thank for the comments
