    Hi guys,

Having a few strange things occuring on a mutoh rh 2. for the first 6-8 inches as the print heads start the first sweep, the heads fire ink droplets.(Looks to be magenta and cyan) It does not show overspray around the image though. Has anyone experienced this before? It is running a bulk ink system, but all colours are at the same level(also the correct level), so why magenta and cyan? Cheers,

    Eddie 😉

Eddie, ring Phil @ AGS.com.au (in Brisvegas) and put the question to him. He is a whizz on machine servicing (and really nice guy too) If he can point you in the right direction, I’m sure he will.

The Sydney Tech probably knows too, but I don’t know him personally, so can’t give you a contact name unfortunately. 😕

They service Mutoh I’m pretty sure, so he’s no dout had experience with this problem.

That said, someone here may have the answer too. Don’t know any Mutoh users here tho.

If it were a Roland, it could be your pump pulling air. Are both colours coming out of the same pump? I think my roland has magenta and cyan on the same pump, which is why I ask….

    Cheers

    Hi Shane,
I believe it is specific to one head. Thanks for the tipoff with AGS. I’ll give them a call. 😀

Could there be some trash hanging onto the print head? Try cleaning around the heads and see if that stops the problem.

    Eddie,

There is a flat square sponge over which the heads travels..try cleaning this or alternatively several "powerful" cleaning cycles. You might also like to try "Blade Change" "Yes"…move the carriage to the middle and then using a dropper soak the pads on which the heads park with cleaning solution. Get back to me if you have any other problems…we have the same machine and went thu a lot of teething problems.

On another topic you mention you are using a bulk ink system…could you go into more detail please…we are using Mutoh eco Solvent Ultra inks in the new 440ml catridges and they cost a bomb (!)
Look forward to hearing from you

Tony, techink sell solvent inks that are available as a bulk ink system for your machine if you’re interested…

    hi there,

if you have some ink droplets during printing, check for some "hair" or similar that hangs on the printheads nozzle plate…

usually droplets are caused by dirt, esp hairs etc.. if it´s not a broken printhead etc…

you can take off the left cover of the printer, get the printhead carriage to the most left side and inspect the heads nozzleplates with a mirror … check them this way…

also clean the wipers / cappings etc…
usually it´s regular dirt or comes from the "spitting box" the printer jet´s into anytime second printing pass….

if you need any more help, just drop me a line..
    yours jan 🙂
