    hello all

Ok before i continue you can burst out laughing now before i ask this silly question. OK, you done, here goes:

i am trying to make my friend a label for his van. It is basic text but what i want the text to have is a shadow effect in a different colour. So i fugure i have to print the text one colour then stick it on a cut out shadowed background which goes with the flow of the text. I am using ARTCUT, FLEXSIGN. I also have indesign and illustrator, i can’t figure it out. Basicaly i want to make 2 layers then join them after they are cut. How do i do this ? 😳

    Thanks in advance !!

I can’t advise you on how Flexi works as I use signlab. But what you want to do is cut the shade and apply that first, then the text. The shade will be the shape of your text plus the extra ….. if you know what I mean…? I’ll post a pic of what I mean in another forum……

There are probably a few tutorials in your user manual – most of the commercial graphic packages will show you the basics of text layout, shapes, shadows & layers.
