One of those jobs where the cost seems out of context to the job……

24 corex boards, cut to 15" x 3", with a cut vinyl arrow on.
For anything this size usually I would be charging £1.70 each, seems way too steep for this job, what do others think?

Might seem a bit steep but you can be very busy making no money too 😉 i know this doesn’t help but reduce the cost a we bit if you think u should £1.50

    No less than $10 each.
YOU have to cut the coro…
YOU have to cut the vinyl…
YOU have to weed, mask, and stick….
You are offering a custom service.
    YOU are worth it.
    love….Jill

    Hiya Lorianne,
Jill is considered the Coro Queen here in the states, so I’d listen to her advice!
The only way I would consider doing it cheaper is if I was to screenprint them, but you’ll still have the same p.i.t.a. issues. Just cutting and cleaning the substrates alone will take at least an hour.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.
I was originally thinking of the £1 mark, but thought ‘why the hell should I’ and have put them out at £1.50, and will let them know they have a 15% discount.

    Cheers!

i’m not exactly sure what i’d charge, i try to work to a £25 minimum order, but i reckon £2 a shot aint alot of money for those,

i’ve probably mentioned it somewhere before, but i have a pretty simple system for boards,

whatever the board, i double the cost of a full sheet, so say i have a sheet of dibond, the board i might retail for £100 (for eg), a half sheet would be 2/3rd of that price (£66), and a 1/4 sheet 2/3rds of that (£44), a 1/4 sheet is the minimum i charge for,

that way you have covered the cost of a full sheet if you only sell a 1/2 sheet (free 1/2 board in stock), or if you sell a 1/4 sheet, you only have a very small amount tied up in a 3/4 sheet profit asell as your sale, does that make sense ? i know what i mean !

obviously the vinyl is on top,

with your signs, and this is a rough in head estimate, the full sheet of correx (5mm) might retail for about £20, 1/2 sheet for £14, 1/4 sheet for £10, take into account you’re cutting it, i add 20%, you’ll get all your 24 panels from one 4×2, so £12 plus graphics, a metre ? a metre of 651 i retail at £12.50, so £25 roughly for the materials, it’s gonna take an hour of anyones time to cut board/vinyl/weed/apply, so add an hour time wise, i reckon i’d charge £45 the lot,

so without adding it up properly, i guess thats pretty close to your £1.70 mark,

    doh !

    £2.20 each

This takes in to account time to cut the boards, the vinyl cost, time to apply the vinyl.

Its not worth any less. Turn the work away and let them find some cowboy to do it.

    You know what your worth.
