    Hello guys

i have searched the archives but can’t seem to find the answer.

i have a pcut630 i have just installed virtual drivers, its says device is installed and ready to use. I have tried signgo, artcut and flexisign. They all detect the plotter and they all allow me to press the ‘cut’ button, but the problem is the cutter does not respond. They are all set to the same comm port, baud rate at 9600 and LCD on plotter is showing online. I can’t work this out, any help would be apreciated. 👿

its a long shot mate, but do you have ‘spooling’ turned on?

hopefully some of the flexi guys may be able to help.

seems a lot of initial probs with pcut units in the past on the boards. someone with one may have experienced it too

sorry can’t help more than that

I have a similar every time I go to cut, get the usual cannot initialise the cutting device error. This is down usually to the USB not being detected as it should be. Remove insert the USB plug and R.Click detect hardware changes in device manager will usually sort this one out. Make sure the USB port you are using is actually working as that caught me out once, had to replace the port.
If the cutter is initialised and when you press cut nothing at all happens, make sure the cutting limits on the plotter is set right. If the limits are off, set for narrow material and now cutting wide material it just will hang there and do nothing. reset the limits and try it if that don’t work try the reset button should cut fine.

Also watch the pressure as it occasionally will max the pressure when resetting for some reason.

I have a Pcut 1200 from Alan Flynn, where did you get yours?

i purchased mine from ebay, the dealer has been great, always responding to emails within a couple of hours.

The software has no probs detecting the plotter, it is cutting fine, only problem is, in some places it cuts right through and in other areas it just touches the surface. Do i need to adjust blade height or pressure settings or combination of both ?

This might be dumb question but you do have the blade in the innermost holder?
Never really had your particular problem, as is usually a case of always cutting too much or always too little.
Pressure I use is mostly 90-100 and blade depth just scores the backing.
Get some material and do the test cut at several places along the Length of the machine. Once setup to just pierce the backing paper, it should just pierce the backing paper equally at each point you check. If hardly cuts the material or starts to cut the strip. I would think the machine is out of alignment some place and fixing that is beyond my experience.
Was the eBay seller from Germany by chance?

Welcome to the site Anya, but you should know that it is against board rules to use this a a sales forum. If you want the business, approach the site administrator for sponsorship or advertising. I’m sure he’ll be more than happy to offer you a ‘good deal’ if it is of some benefit to the other members.

    Cheers, and welcome again

When I did a ‘pcut’ search – there were quite a few coming out of China via eBay. About £400 & £100 P&P for a 1000mm plotter. Would be interesting to know if they are up to normal daily commercial use. How accurate etc.

Keep us upto date with some feedback Theo! Hmmm £500 for a second plotter….

No worries Theo. My cousin got one from a guy in Perth, WA. Reckons he is a good guy to deal with.
