print media for sticking to a flexible wheel cover
Posted by Richard Peirce on 28 June 2006 at 13:55Can anyone recommend a media for printing onto to stick to a wheel cover that’s a banner material? (Printing on a Rocky 1 with eco inks).

Hi,
We have printed on to banner vinyl with the Cadet but for a banner not a wheel cover..
Talk the customer into a semi rigid… will only cost you £18 and it will look much better..
Cheers

like Ian said print on banner vinyl then apply
I have done this before but was using an Edge. -
Avery do a vinyl designed for printing and applying to curtains – its one of their mpi range. Very good stuff. originally designed for markings on yacht sails I was told. The only drawback is the time spent negotiating a new mortgage to pay for it.

Why not print onto a thin banner material and have it welded directly to the wheel cover?

Chances are, if the wheel cover has been used, that the wheel cover will have inground dirt and grime making long term stickyness (is that a word?) pretty hard.
Avery mentioned here is probably a good suggestion, laminate it tho as wheel covers will be subjected to a lot of abuse, and eco inks will need to be protected.

cheers for the advice guys, will try avery and apa, but would def laminate, as you say shane, eco inks need protecting. But it is for a brand new wheel cover that the customer has purchased themselves so i’ll yet ya know the outcome.
Thanks again
