Hi, does anybody know where I can buy gerber ready vinyl for an edge FX without going to spandex 👿 ?

If you are talking about "Edge Ready" materials, they are available only from Spandex, as these materials are Gerber approved.

I’ve been happily using Mactac for about 10-11 years on my Edge without any problems whatsover.

You can get it from a wide variety of suppliers, such as Spandex, Amari, etc.

We have an edge 2 and use mainly oracal 651, 751 from Europoint display

Printing onto self cling has always been a nightmare and i will always expect the worst. When printing or plotting i hold the vinyl on the side that is being pulled through to keep it taut and also cover the dust strips with a layer of application tape to keep the friction down even then i expect it to go wrong. I have an edge 2 and it doesnt look like thy have managed to sort it out yet.

In the past I have used self cling bought from Metamark. They also sell the edge films too, and a bit cheaper than spandex too (depending on what discount you get though).
It’d be worth checking metamark out as they have quite a few edge products now.

Hi Tom, how are you, remember me I was at Spandex waiting for a demo when you were trying to get some self cling printed out, how’s the FX performing. We use All Print Supplies, fantastic.

We get static cling from KPMF direct who have both clear and white for use on the edge and have printed hundreds if not thousands of labels with several spot colours with no trouble.

Otherwise we get sprocketed vinyl from the Signmakers Warehouse who supply Ritrama for printing onto.

just to let you guys know after months of fighting, my new GERBER FX arrived last week. Its a massive difference to the first 2 recons I was given.
Just goes to show you don’t have to put up with bad customer service.
