  • SignLab cutting path for Colorip

    Can anybody help?
I’ve got to use Colorip to run a job on my VersaCamm rather than the SignLab rip, because the is no SignLab profile for the material I’m printing.
Colorip doesn’t recognise the SignLab contour cut. Am I missing a setting somewhere, or do I have to create a cutting path another way?

    Steve,

First off, can you let your CADlink sales representative know what profiles you need (i.e., for what combination of printer model, media, inkset). Ask them to pass info along to CADlink with your SignLab product version info, and query whether the profiles are available. This may be a case where the profiles already exist, or they are on the list for future inclusion with SignLab. It would probably help to be verbose.

Second, thanks to Chris for indicating that the cutting name of "CutPath" should be used. You want to set this "CutPath" name in SignLab by going Options menu >> SignLab Setup >> PostScript Setup.

Once the "CutPath" name is set, you can do either of the following:

    • Use File | Print in SignLab to directly to the third-party RIP (provided that the RIP’s printer driver has been installed in the Printers and Faxes section of the Windows Control Panel).
    • Use File | Export in SignLab and save the file as a "Level 3 EPS" file, which can then be imported into the third-party RIP.

In either case, the third-party RIP should automatically identify and cut the contour cut lines.

    Cheers,

    Rod

Thanks very much Chris and Rod. I hadn’t saved the file as a level 3 eps. It’s all very different from the SignLab Rip.
    Many thanks
