This is the latest bus. Oracal 551 yellow with the red and black printed, and laminated with Oracal 215 matt laminate.

Originaly I was only employed to do the front and rear. The other shop was becoming unreliable so he rang me late on a wednesday to see if I could have it signed by saturday. Never being one to pass up a challenge I gave it a go.

He notified me during the week that he is now using me exclusevly, and gave me 3 buses to do fully. Two today and one next week.

Previous shop painted the red over yellow, but they wash the buses every day, and the red ‘washes off’ over time because of the caustic washes they use.

The previous sign shop designed the text with the shadow, I’m not really happy about it, but 15 buses are already done so I can not change it now 🙁

This client has also refered me to another bus company because I helped him out. I am hopeful to get that bus company too

Shane, your are right about the shadow, but now you are in the "good books" perhaps suggest leaving in out (costs less) or softening to grey?
    (same logo, better looking)

Hey Bob, long time no see….

Got advised last week that I have to re sign 30 buses, that are being refurbished and re painted. Depends on the coach builder how quick they come thru, but it is a looking like one every 6 weeks at the moment.

I still have that moron sign shop trying to steal some of my contracts, so I have resigned myself to the fact it may not come off when the time comes. That way I’m not too disappointed if I lose it, but excited when I start 😛

Peter, I did broach the subject of ‘modifying’ the shadow, but it is a ‘no go’ area. The client loves it 😕 apparently. But to change now would make his fleet look too different 🙁

    Cheers guys

    Hiya Shane,
yeah its very tough trying to "convert" any new clients former designs.
I usually try passing them a wee teaser, a visual of what "it could look like" with a minor twist.
Then if impressed , go for the jugular…sell, sell, sell.
Tell them to phase it in gradually over a set period.

But admittedly some people can be totally baffled by wot is, and isnt good, to look at.
