  • What font do YOU use when asked for a ‘handwriting’ font?

Posted by Kate and Danny on 24 May 2006 at 12:48

I’ve lost track of the amount of times someone has asked for a ‘handwriting’ style font for their companies tagline. This time
    it happens to be

    KAPITAL KLEENING ( BOLD FONT)

    "Domestic and Commercial Cleaning Specialists"
    ( Handwriting style font.)

I usually just go for something like Artbrush or Banff

BUT… I’m getting so bored of using them , I’m on the lookout for a handful of others so I can offer them some choice.

    Know what I mean?

Anyway, let me know what you guys use

    Thanks

    Danny

Sarah script is my fav from letterheadfonts.com, but I use anna banana and speedstyle a fair bit too.

Just got a heap of exhibition work when I used sarah script for an old client. He was getting sick of my old fonts and was looking for something fresh.

Just got an email tonight raving about what I have done, and promised me more work, as long as I can offer some new font styles.

Just purchased 5 from LHF so I’ll see how I go.

    Hope that helps…..

    quote Jill Marie Welsh:

    😉
    I just paint it.

    ” SHOW OFF ” 🙂

I used to do a lot hand written posters so I have in past created what I want on paper scanned it in and used it for vinyl work,
very unique uncopyable (is that a word) 😕

For pretty general scripts though I particually like ”Murray” and ”Bergell”

I said to Jill at the sign show (in my Essex accent) I must buy some descent script fonts as many have, you don’t see that many over here on vans signs etc. I’m talking about really nice ones.
It seems in America it’s the norm but as yet not over here.

same here martin. Most sign shops stick to the free stuff, so ‘buying’ and using something a bit different tends to stand out.

Keep it to yourself tho, don’t want the opposition to copy me 😉 😛

Murray is one I use too, as well as Sarah Script which i bought. Another couple of favourites are Signpainter House Script, Signpainter House casual and mistral. 😀

I would use Veronica’s Hand which is what I would call a proper handwriting font.

When most clients see a sample it turns out that they really meant a script, so Sarah it is.
