A3 or A4 printer for sublimation?
Hi Folks,
Looking to buy a sublimation printer ( As a few others seem to be).
I have found a few good deals on the Epson range. I was wondering if those in the know find they need to use A3 rather than A4?The Epson r220 is 6 colour but only prints A4, but is a lot cheaper than the 1290 which again is 6 colour but prints A3.
Do many items need to be bigger than A4??

what sort of thing are you going to be using this for mate?p.s. it was a pleasure meeting/chatting with you at signuk this year, hopefully next year we can chat longer. mark it down now to stay over, you will have to meet the rest of us for a drink and a meal. :lol1:

My advice would be A4 printer, but buy 2 and keep one for a spare because the jets are bound to get blocked when you least want them too.

I am thinking mainly of mugs… But I know that once we start there will be someone that wants a T shirt or something else larger doing.
I was planning to buy in a couple of hundred mugs as giveaways to customers but after seeing some of the stuff at sign Uk have decided to produce our own for promotion. I think every time we do a van etc for new customers we will give them a free mug with their logo on it and give them a price list too.
Have bought a mug press but just deciding on a printer with bulk feed.Cheers

Hi Ian,
Did you buy the epson 220? and if you did how do you find its performance.
I have a 200 and the newer 220 hooked up to bulk ink systems for regular ink jet outputs with no problems other that slight head blockage.
Would be interested in getting another for sub lim if there was a bulk system available.
Any other advice on A4 printers more than welcome
