Looking for a good system to paint acrylics. We’re painting the inside of the clear perspex so that the visible side is on the outside, seen through the perspex, and we spray it on. The pieces are large and formed so screen printing is out of the question. Our colors are white and black.
Right now we use a colored primer and then paint gloss over it just to make the inside look finished but there has to be a better way.
We tried Krylon Fusion which is supposed be the answer to all our prayers but we ran into the problem that it can’t be retouched, so the slightest nick and it’s over. If you retouch it, it all krinckles up.
Does anybody know of a one shot paint for acrylics? We don’t mind if it’s a two part system but we’d like not to have to use a primer.
    Thanks!
    Carlos

Hey thanks! I’ll look into it. Used Lacryl 400 but it takes a bunch of coats if you don’t want translucent…

We finally came up with a system that works great for reverse painting acrylics:
First we prime it (no scuffing) with a product called Bulldog Adhesion Promoter, then we spray a screen printing ink form NAZDAR (www.nazdar.com) although I guess most inks will work – thinned with denatured alcohol. Goes on sweet and when cured is very hard to scratch. Another bonus is that you can keep the mix in the spraygun for a couple of days without clogging.

    Have you looked into GripFlex?
That’s what we used to paint lexan with back in the day.
