  • Spraying Edges of Foamex Letters

Posted by Martin Kennedy on 6 May 2006 at 08:54

    Hi All

When spraying foamex letters we use the following process to ensure that paint does not soak in to the edges:-

Sand, prime, sand, prime and then paint with colour. (Sometimes 2 coats)

As with most things, we have perfected our way over the years but I was wondering what process others use use coz there must be alternatives now that would help to make things quicker.

Any new ideas or thoughts appreciated…

    Martin

I’m interestd to know what sort of primer and paint you use.
I use the 18mm foam for vertical aboards and the white edge lets them down a little.
    Would appreciate your knowledge.

i use pva glue and water mix but i cant remember exact mix, i just pour the pvc in a container and addwater so it is well watery..1 coat is enough to seal the edges. prime then spray.

try high density pvc no prep jut spray, the edges dont soak up the paint for a better finish
