    hey all,

having recently just missed out on quite a big job (for me at least), i would like to ask those of you who are prepared to disclose such advice, how you would probably price the following,

i would hazard a guess, that i get 95% of the jobs i go for, without really hving to haggle at all. i know i cut quite a few substantial margins on this quote, so it was a surprise not to get it. anyways, bugger the job ! any idea on prices for this lot please…..

all using dibond and cut vinyl. including design and application etc.

    2x main facia signs… 3m x 575mm
    2x Hanging signs, £65 each 600 x 300mm
Etch effect on top windows 6m x 900
Gold flood on lower windows 7m x 900

Overhead lighting trough (cost of £400) 6m

    ‘new management’ banners 2400×600

removal of old window signs aprx 4hrs.

here are the colours etc below.

as i’ve said on the thread that this relates too, it’s not really about the money, i quoed exactly as i was asked, and used the fonts and colours i was told (though offered alternatives too). so really i would be interested to know if i’m way out on my pricing. i’ll post my pricing when a few people have posted their own, i’ll not post it now as i wouldnt want ti to influence anyones estimates,

to be truthful, i was never at ease with this design etc, the name reminded me more of a video rental store, not a takeaway,

i just hate it when a customer doesnt give a reason for not accepting a quote, prices, materials etc can always be adjusted to suit a certain budget, i think it’s common courtesy !!

hugh thats a hard question at this time of night on a friday I will reflect and get back to you, but hey let it go no good getting wound up about what could have been, sometimes there is no rhyme or reason why some one else get’s the job. 😎 we work on a busy road between industrial estates we see vans go by that are very nearly the same as we designed, but we didn’t do them, win some lose some 🙄

cheers lynn, i’m not so worried about losing the job, more just a ‘why’. i want to be sure that in my attempt to not sell myself short, and to not undercut deliberately, that i’m not overpricing my work !
