    Great looking job there.
How long build time on all the components and is it a ‘one of’ or are ther more to follow?
    Again, well done.

    Hi,

This stand will be used just the once… We have 3 more to do for them this year but everyting apart fron the lightboxes will be scrapped as the next one is a different size and shape.(That is why I love Exhibitions)

Graphics took 3 days to prepare this was due to the raised letters all having a white then green on top.. took quite a while.. The stand was 1 week. Dummy build in the workshop then packed in the back of the wagon.

    Wow, that is certainly impressive!
    So professional-looking too.
I sometimes have people bringing me bits and pieces of these displays,
that they’ve bought somewhere, to re-letter.
Just did one at 3am last night (couldn’t sleep)
Mine looks nothing like yours tho 🙁
Isn’t it something to think of all that time, effort, and materials just to be used once?
    Great job.
    Love….jill

well done Ian. Our exhibition companies here have their own sign shops, so get very little chance to get work like this unfortunately

You did a great job mate.

Thanks for the comments, Especially Jill who has a real critical eye. (that is not meant in a bad way at all Jill)

We have to do the next one for the end of May which will be at the GMex then about 3 weeks later on to the NEC.

I think iSoldit is something we are all going to hear a lot about over the next 12 Months.

    Cheers

very nice work ian, well done mate. think i have saw exhibition stuff from you in the past? nice line to get into as a sign maker/printer.
we do some but not allot of exhibition type stuff. pop up stands etc but nothing like a complete stand. ide love to give it ago as i think, (correct me if i am wrong) there are few limitations on materials and imagination, other than H&S, Illumination etc

    Hi folks,

Thanks a bunch for the comments..
Lynn it has come from the States..You take them an Item tell them what you want for it and they do the rest..Pics,listing, answering emails, post and packing then send you a cheque less their commision.

Hugh it is not eBay.. iSoldit is a trading assistant for eBay.. On all the shops we have to do all the eBay logos are in eBay corporate colours.

Dave .. most of it done in Signlab with a little touching up etc in photoshop.

Peter.. This is the Uk Link
    http://www.isolditonline.co.uk/

Rob.. there are a few limitations.. As you say H&SAW, banners etc have to be flame retardent yet foamboard doe not and if you have ever set fire to any of that you will know how bad that is!

Different venues have different rules regards height etc… and the on site safety officers canbe a real pain but I must say it is something I enjoy doing.

Last week we did 2 stands for Nuremberg .. all to do with Plant and machinery. This week we have done 3 small ones for the NEC to do with building works, we have to take them down on Sunday and put 2 more up in their place for next week which is for pet supplies and also one for the Road Haulage Association the week after!! It has been a mad couple of Months for the exhibition stuff..

I think I need to move nearer to Birmingham!!!

Once again thanks for the comments

Brilliant work Ian, and some unsociable hours, but I guess you get more dosh for this kind of work.

Thanks for showing another side of the sign industry.

    Cheers

Great work Ian, looks really eye-catching.

Just looked at the 2 sites, comparing charges.
Why is it, that yet again, the US dollar is being converted directly to UK Pounds for their charges? 30% of first US $500, 30% of first UK £500 etc….so punters will be paying much more commission in the UK.

Someone, somewhere, thinks all us Brits are stupid! (:)

Just out of interest, I do some exhibition prints on foam board for Corus steelworks & they are very H&S so i had to ring up the manufactures of foam board, not the suppliers and was assured that foam board is classed as Class 1 fire retardant. the safest you can get without going to steel or aluminium.

Well John it lets off the worst black smoke and nausious fumes but we have never been asked if it is flame retardent or not…

It may well be but it sure burns well in my incinerator..

    Yeah great stuff…

so your saying SignLAB does 3D work as in the First photo? I am considering having a dabble at creating 3D work like that and trying to find a 3D app to learn and one that wont cost a bomb.

    Nice job Ian!

Ian and John – I have been using Forex as basematerial for tradeshowgraphics that are internationally used (uk, germany, france, usa) and I always use Forex because it has past the all flammability tests, it is B1 (Germany), M1 (France), class1 (UK) and probably more.

If you mean the other type of board … the sandwich of two layers alu with foam in between. For this I always use Alcan Kapa(-Fix) and the only thing I know about this product is that the two layers are flame retardent. I don’t use this material alot because it can be damaged easy.

    Great work again Ian 😀

Rob, the company "I Sold It" sell items on your behalf on ebay they are not part of ebay so I should think they are not allowed to use the actual logo? …. its more of a catch line/slogan type thing having the "on ebay" added to the end …… but I could be wrong :lol1:
