    Hi folks,

I’ve got a customer who is revamping their offices and require a new sign. The contractors are putting up a false wall, like a room partition type thing behind where a new reception desk will be. The customer wants a sign put onto this. I cannot get in to see this as it’s not in place yet and won’t be for a couple of weeks. However in the meantime he’s looking for ideas and costs for his new sign, thing is, he says the partition is slightly curved and has a fabric finish.
I’m not sure how this would be for putting fixings into, previous work in his offices have been 10mm clear perspex with stand off fixings into solid walls.
Has anyone got an idea of this type of partition and could advise me on what would work on this?

    thanks! 😀

Instead of a clear acrylic panel on locators what about a clear acrylic panel on wires suspended from the ceiling positioned in front of the new partition?

Good idea Phill, only problem maybe that the ceilings are about 20ft high 😕 This sign is going to down at eye level. I don’t think they’d go for it.

Marcella I was going to say similar to Phil, I expect you don’t want to attach this to the ceiling if it’ s that high 🙄

    Marcella,
It will depend on the thickness of the partition, but you should be able to use mdf or drylining fixings. most partitions are made of a fibreboard or similar, the example below is also done in ally for mdf

You could still use stand-offs then as well

thanks Peter. I think I might have a look at 5mm perspex instead of 10mm to cut down on the weight a bit too. That will also have a slight flex in it to hopefully cope with the slight curve… 😕
I wasn’t sure how dense the stuff was for holding fixings.
