PC60 full colour running costs?
Posted by Kenny Ramsey on 10 April 2006 at 16:50Hi guys. Another question for you 😀
What are the running costs of a PC60 using full colour. I know it’s more than a Gerber but how much.
Thanks again

Is there anywhere I could source a Gerber Edge 1 or 2, reconditioned obviously. I gather an Edge FX is as expensive as a wide format printer?

Initially it will be used for customised logos for number plates, replica Tractor decals and occasional Lorry cab graphics. Ideally, I’ll be branching into full colour graphics for vans and commercials as soon as I can source the work.
Budget is an issue unfortunately. I have been working in graphics for 6 years but I’ve only gone solo recently. The most advanced I’ve worked with so far has been a gerber 1 although I’ve seen a demo of a Cadet Eco Solvent.
Any advice/pointers much appreciated 😀

a edge will do this but you will be restricted by size

yes but a nice bit of clear vinyl will save a lot of head use.

Don’t even consider a PC60 for van graphics, they are only good for small, shaped stickers. Very expensive to run and very expensive to repair. Heads wear out quickly and are considered a consumable and need an engineer installation. The PC60 was a great machine in its day (I’ve had 2) but I would look at a second hand Cadet, Versacamm or equivalent from a reliable seller nowadays, if budget is tight.

Thanks. Do you know any suppliers that regularly sell recon machines?
