    Hi

getting to a point where I think I will need a laminator soon.

Space is very limited (so is price).

Any ideas as to what I should look for? And how much they cost?

It’s to laminate stuff I print on my Versacamm SP300.

    Cheers

    Martin

PS – How much does the small version of the Ezy Taper go for??

Have had the opportunity of trialing the EzyTaper and also have a guardsman laminator from B&P. Both good units… EzyTaper is something that you have to learn while doing your day to day work, once mastered it can help to do jobs quicker. However if you are looking for lamination only, then I suggest the Guardsman as a little bit of heat does improve the output. However the Ezy does help with mounting print, flood coating and applying application tape… so it isn’t a bad deal when you consider it all.

The big Ezy Taper is about £1200 cheaper then the B&P Guardsman… the small Ezy, I have no idea on pricing.

Martin, see if you can tee up a ezytaper demo. Click on the link on the main page, and enquire there.

I know they are really busy with sales, so if you don’t get a reply quickly, let me know and I’ll call the manufacturer here and see if he can help you.

To be honest tho, I’d go for the 1500mm wide anyway so you have no limitations as far as flood coating in the future.

well, how wide your printer will print will be the first thing to consider. Ive done laminating for 10 yrs and have had one machine: Orca I, 54 inch width. I had to change one roller on it which wasnt cheap, but it’s paid for itself 10 fold.
the orca I was around 8,000 when we got it, but i dont know how much they are now or whether you do that much lamination to justify going that route.

    good luck
    go vols!!
