Hugh,
Papyrus is a disaster to cut due to the gazillion nodes.
I’d tell you to just contour it and cut, but that adds even more nodes.
The reason it does not look right for the design is because it is a weak font, weak I tell you!
It’s made for text but not for signs, if you get my drift.
😀
Please try something better….there are so many fonts from which to choose.
Not Mistral, either….a node nightmare.

Hi Hugh
I have 2-one very fine, and this one which may be marginally heavier.
-
Listen to Jill mate.
My hair was brown before I started weeding papyrus 😕

thanks guys n Gals, i think thats the one i have lorraine, buti’ll check in a mo,
Jill, Shane, i’ve used it before for small signs, and didnt find it a prob, well ok, a bit of a pita to weed, but i do like it !! 😳
anyways, i want something oldy book looking, but not a script, hence i went with that, i’d be greatful if you could suggest an alternative that aint gonna cost me !!
anyways, keep an eye out on the design forum, i’ll post the whole shop design shortly, i can already see this sign being a labour of love !

it gets worse ……ive had to traditionaly letter that on a wall ….only for an artic to knock it down the following month …looked great even i do say myself 😀 😀

i like how you say ‘traditionaly’ brian…more understandable now that is, than signwriting 😕 have noticed most folk who just use vinyl tend to call it that…which i would tend to describe it as signmaking 😉 some might agree…some wont och well it is friday night…and sorry for hi-jacking the post 😀

Trying again…
Some of these are kinda crappy, but some are better than Papyrus.
All are freeware.

Thanks Jill, i’ll get em out in a mo,
Nikola, you, or anyone else is more than welcome to pop around, not that there’s much space in the workshop mind ! still, the office is the kitchen, so tea is easy ! wasnt up to much last week though, lots of silly small things, hence i’m now trying to catch up on lots of artwork !
Brian, bro ! my dad did tell me once, that i might have other siblings somewhere, and i thought he was joking, he used to have a raleigh chopper bike, don’t know if he ever went to scotland in it though !
