    Have a look here Derek.

when you asked I had to check the date, thought it was april already!

I’m no expert but to me that appears to be breaking european traffic regs.
which say that if a truck meets the legal requirements of its home country, it does not need any addition modifications to enter any other EU country?

I know, I noticed that too. But aparently “It is a place of work” so jobsworth clasified as premises.

It’d better not be another http://www.oops.gov as I’ve sold hundreds of the damn things!

The wider issue is will the drivers get sacked for smoking in their cab?
It is against the law in some countries, but you dont need a bl00dy sticker to remind the driver.

I am not one to condone it while driving (although I have done It)

Even at night in their own time?

    Beaucracy gone mad.

Will they have smoking police stationed at every services and lay by?

    This is great news 😀

As of Sunday I’m heading doon to Hadrians wall where I will set up a wee stall beside the border guards passport control barrier. I will be offering the offending drivers an opportunity to purchase (at reasonable cost) some of my wee A6 vehicle no smoking signs.

(Rumour has it that the border guards have been ordered to shoot on sight any one trying to sneak through into our beloved country without a no smoking sign)

Now that the Scottish parliament has come up with this ingenius ruse to prevent people from becoming criminals I have decided to lobby the parliament to extend the legislation to cover all types of criminal activites.

I can see a bright future where all businesses are forced to display signs saying No Stealing, No Pillaging, No Fornicating, No Embezzling etc. In fact signs that denounce the whole spectrum of criminal activities.

So how come it’s not already a crime not to display signs denouncing all other forms of criminal activity apart from just smoking 😕

Remember folks, as we in Ireland are begining to find out, if ‘we don’t smoke, a loaf of bread may well end up costing £20! beware the nanny state!
