vehicle graphics: protecht
Posted by Marcella Ross on 16 March 2006 at 14:17Just as well this was done inside…… it’s freezing today with frequent snow showers.
This is the 3rd van of this design I’ve done for my customer. It’s pretty plain but I think it looks quite nice, he wanted something that vaguely relfected the shape of the brushes on a floor polishing machine, hence the white background.Alistair Richards replied 19 years, 9 months ago 20 Members · 22 Replies -

nice clean job Marcella, i’m guessing you apply indoors ?
i got a couple of things to re-do in the astra race car replica i did, reckon it was cos of the cold ! not enough heat into it,
very nice work though, that van looks a doddle to apply to, nice n flat !

Yes Hugh, done indoors. Just as well the temperature is near frezzing today. The other blessing as you mentioned is the very smooth flat panels, makes it a quick easy job.

Very nice Marcella,
Thats exactly how I think vans should look…. clean, not over done & giving the client a professional look.
I like the company name aswell – Protecht… clever 😛

Marcella top stuff again!!
I agree with Glen that is how vans should look.
Tinybit of crit, I don’t like the phone number it that font,
but overall really stylish-
less is definitely more.Bloody weather, yesterday we were in T-shirts with
nice warm sunshine.TODAY its Freezing grey sky occasional snow horrible.
Massive fitting job on tomorrow dreading it. -
quote oreodeus:What kind of van is that? I want one!
Adrian
Adrian, it’s a Ford Transit Connect. A mid size van.

Nice 1 Marcella………..looks neat and clean smart design.
Nice and simple to measure up on as you say Marcella……..wish my first ever van was a Connect not a Vito……..2 many dam lines on them took me ages when I look back at it now………how long did it take to apply roughly Marcella?
Tim.

Excellent work Marcella.
I like the white “floor brushes” in the background, it gives your design more depth. 😀

very smart Marcella, nice tidy job there….
my only crit is same as martins, font on phone number… but that’s just a self preference thing.
thanks for taking the time to post your work. 😀

Yes..nice job..i think silver vans can look the bus..complemented with nice clean graphics..
incidentally..ive one of these to quote on , customer is interested in lines across the grooves in the door panels at the bottom..anyone tried this out of interest.Jon

That’s a pretty spiffy van there Sister.
I like the phone number just fine, don’t listen to these folks.
My only constructive crit would be to suggest a thin white contour between the red lettering and the black outline.
All in all tho, punchy, clean, and practically popping off the side of that van.
Nice job.
Love….Jill -
Nice work, I love the simplicity of it. Im afraid tho that I would have preferred the phone no in a different font. Personal choice only.
Van looks really smart and professional 😀 -
Hi, really like the van, looks great.
This is probably a really stupid newbie question, but when doing something like this with text over a graphic do you, cut the text shapes out from the underlying graphic, so when you lay the text vinyl in it would be butt jointed.(not very good for expansion/contraction though). Or do you just lay down the graphic, then lay the text right over.(could see ridges at the edges of the underneath graphic though). Or do you have to cut out the graphic so it is an exact underlay for the whole job/text area. Hope you understand me, which method?
