    Hi guys,

I have just got my hands on a flatbed digital printed (Inca Spyder 320) to be precise. Need a guide price on s/A vinyl. I need to produce 2 x 1000 x 700mm decals (laminated). any help on the right price to charge would be appreciated

You lucky b*gger! How do you like it? We are looking at flatbed printers.

We would cost on our Grenadier as follows:-
Digivinyl @ £10 per linear metre
Solvent inks @ £18.00 per square metre
Laminate @ £10 per linear metre
    Labour @ £25 per hour
    Studio/computer @ £35 per hour

On our HP5500 we would charge UV ink @ £15 per square metre

All these costs depend on what you buy in for and should reflect a % of wastage.

    Hope this helps…

Andrew, are you saying that the HP is £3 per sq mtr cheaper then the Grenadier?

Hi Dave – That’s what we find… we use the HP mainly for indoor, backlit applications and printing on textured materials like canvass which means we then have to use substrates which are more expensive (Backlit @ £12.60pm and Canvass @ £23.33pm). Again it’s all down to punting around and getting prices and terms that suit you.

The Grenadier we use for wraps, fascias and exterior applications.

(These prices are what we charge – not what we buy for.)

I’m glad to hear some people are wise enough to charge the right money for digital prints. I charge between £125 – £180 sq M applied, got out priced the other day because the company i was competing against was charging £28 sq m laminated and applied !!!!!!

Thats not realistic IDNGI thats extortionate!
A 16m trailer for 10.5K? even at your lower rate,
I can get top notch airbrush work for less

If you can get it fine, go for it. I cant blame you.

our industry is a wash with under priced work, sign shops struggling to cope have dragged the value of this side of our industry to its knees way to early… (:)

Just for comparison from our and your market – we charge 19£ for vinyl+print+lam and applied end user price. For dealers – 12£ for same job.
Prices for inks, printers, parts is near the same here and there.
