Is this for ‘business’ or ‘personal amusement’?

Quick one off, back of mates van type thing – go to Halfrauds or local motor factors. It’s cr4py stuff – but will do for a non-professional job.

For the ‘real deal’, give Vinyl Logistics a call. I know they do the proper tint film. Can’t remember prices – but not especially cheap. Try eBay if you want a cheap bulk supply, but they are unlikely to supply the lesser tints.

ps. Fitting it is a real PITA. Without the proper technique, tools & patience it can (and will) go ‘orribly, ‘orribly wrong.

Go to kitchen – get roll of clingfilm. Now make one side sticky and don’t get dust, fingerprints or a crease on it. 🙄

VL do suntek, which is what I use….the HP series is the one to use if it’s for a paying job.
Very expensive compared to vinyl. 🙄

As previously mentioned, don’t think because you can do vinyl, you can tint.

Tinting (cars especially) is difficult and takes a long time to learn and get professional results.
There are tinting courses avaliable and most are around £900-£2000 for one week!.

Good luck with it and if you need any help just ask!

    Cheers

    Sorry Joe
I have to disagree, its a technique rather than art.
If you are prepared to read and ask, and spend time practicing, it can be learnt, art on the other hand, is not taught, it is already in the mind of the artist.

good or bad? that is in the mind of the viewer.

    Bit deep

    never mind just my thoughts

i have been doing tinting for over 5 years and moving into the signage industry has been gr8. i have found that my training as a tinter has really benefited me but i have herd that going from signs to tints is a nightmare . they are kindof similar but thats about it. if you are serious about tinting i have a contact in shefeild that can help you out. i trained him about 2 years ago. as for suppliers try johnson window films or moonraker films/reflexis…..

they are prob the best to talk to about training too.

    hope this helps
