Sports ground Signs ….just intrested
Like policemen…never stop being policemen ….sign people never stop being sign people. While watching Scotland just getting hammered by wales at rugby my attention was drawn to the signs on the ground mainly the “RBS” logo ……..how are they done because it seems to be 3 dimensional . What kind of dye is it ? I also noticed the Scotland & Wales emblems on the grass .(Dint know if these were really there or digitized later )….almost embarrassed to ask 😳

I know what you mean, they are painted on the pitch but the people who do it must somehow work out the perspective required.

i remember watching a match a few years ago and the red dye being all over the players …the commentators were saying it hadn’t dried properly .(which was obvious !! 🙂 }

remember seeing a program about it last year,
they do paint it on, much like the pitch lines, but they use cameras to get the perspective, and they guys painting have monitors to show the grids and what the camera see’s
or great big stickers, maybe not 😀

I was at the match yesterday Brian. Good to see Wales winning again after the disaster against England.
The Wales and Scotland emblems are superimposed but other logos are painted on the pitch in perspective so they look good on the main camera shots.
Did you see France v Ireland, cos the logos on the pitch at that match looked really wierd from some camera angles.

hi Neil …no didnt see that match but i know what you mean the the team logos only seem to be there during half time shots etc…where as RBS logo seems to be there all the time …i was kinda hoping the the people that do these logos would be watching the boards 😀 😀
