internet help – problems logging into sites?
hi all having some problems logging on to some site
ebay is one of them im using firefox
some other site are giving me probs as well
any help

its the Cookies mate, you adjusted your browser settings I suspect (like privacy) or they just timed out, or you ran a spyware checker etc.

do you have cookies enabled?
have you installed any new antvirus/firewall software? -
had a look no sure what to do where do check i did play about with the router the other day

shouldn’t make much odds… its browser based.
Anyway… when you login… do you type your name and then the password and Tick that box?

ok i can get on all sites apart from ebay
but if i go in to alo i can get ebay
so wirless network is working but can get ebay using firefox or other only using aol
had a problem the other day as aol are now blocking port 25 for outgoing email using outlook
whats going on??? -
Hi Rich,
its a known problem with ebay and aol, in the past i have found checking the MTU setting in the router is advisable, in most cases it should be set to 1400 along with the MRU. On many a router changing this setting cures the ebay problem, (slow loading or non existant!). There are other possiblities however as you mentioned you had played bout with router other day it could be possible.
hope this helps, if not let me know as theres few other things to try.

EDIT: forgot to mention ensure mss is set to 1360 or 1340

A true help and correct setting for mtu 1458 i changed this to 1400 as you said and im back on line
if things go quite on the sign side you would be great at pc support

may need to pick your brain in future bout the folded sign trays ive seen on boards, spoke to you last year bout them but unfortunately didnt get the job! got few others lined up on quotes so fingers crossed!!……….else ill be resorting to pc support!! 😀

My suggestion for AOL is to scrap it.
They are useless for business, all designed for home kids protection for internet

dave i agree what with them stopping me sending emails with my own smtp by blocking port 25

Try gettin rid of all that AOL CRA* without a re format.
