  • question about my PC60!

Posted by Lorraine Clinch on 2 February 2006 at 13:41

    Hi all!

can anyone tell me why, when I am printing from Signlab to te PC60 I am unable to access Signlab? I have to wait until printing is finished-rather frustrating to say the least!

I have had the printer for a while now, but haven’t used it much yet, so haven’t noticed before.

Also, (another question, I know) why does it always lay down yellow first, regardless of what the end colour is going to be?

    Cheers, Lorraine

For the ‘can’t access’ – maybe you’ve got the SIGNLAB spooler off.

Top menu. CUT / PLOTTING DEFAULTS [setup button] / PORT (click use spooler) – you’ve probably got it on ‘direct to port’. Or is this just for cutting?

As for the yellow first thing…it just does. From memory as I’ve not used a PC60 in years, it’ll always do yellow first, black last (CMYK print). I think it’s because it’s the lightest colour, but just guessing there.

Thanks David, now altered setting to spool. It’s fine using the CX24 cutter, just the PC60 causing problem, will see how it is next time I use it.

Re the yellow printing-thanks, at least I know it’s all PC60’s doing this!

You can change the order the colours print. You have a choice of cmyk, kymc, cmy and ymc (the latter two miss out the black – the black being made up by a combination of the other ribbons). I used to often print either cmy or ymc in order to reduce the running cost (25% less) when printing full colour. The print set-up menu should allow you these different options if printing using the windows print manager.

You can swap the YMC to CMY when you do a reverse print on clear ie. if you are doing a picture. As this then lays down the colours in the right order to view from the reverse otherwise you will get a slight colour cast.

If you can follow that (?) (?)

Andy Warhol made fortunes when he changed the cymk planes around,

like in his Che Guevara images.

I just noticed he was from Jills neighborhood.

    This is an interesting bit
