  • AA direction signs – size/spec???

Posted by David Rogers on 31 January 2006 at 10:59

Does anybody know off-hand the size of the typical A.A. style direction signs for ‘new developments’, ‘show houses’. You know, the yellow and black ones with the little house motif.

I’m guessing at 20″x8″ with the arrow profile from driving past them in the past. Does anybody actually know the ‘official spec’, or is it just do it at whatever size I fancy?

    Cheers

David, the AA have there own sign department for this sort of thing,
I dont you think can just go around and put them up without their consent.

It’s at a developers request for their own personal estates – in the ‘style’ of those signs, a homage if you will, a sincerest form of flattery 🙂

No, seriously. Nobody is going to be conned into thinking it’s a genuine issued sign – but for ease of public recognition it’s got to bear a passing resemblance in colour (non-copyrighted), size (non-copyrighted), and text content (specific to location and therefore non-copyrighted), the ‘house’ will be generic (non-copyrighted) so I don’t see a problem.

I’m only asking to get a general consensus on a size. 😉 not start a counterfeiting racket!
