talking of vinyl removers… anybody got one of the machines from Jag?

looks like a grinder with a rubber flap wheel on it. are they worth the £300, do the flap wheels wear quickly??

Does anybody else sell this kit? would like to see it in operation first.

    regards Darryl

Same type of thing as a “toffee wheel” (named that because of it’s smell).
Any car paint/body work suppliers should have them for drills.

I use one for stubborn bits, works fine.

    Thanks Dave

dave great tip i use these all the time we call it a caramel wheel but each to there own

one tip any one going to use one fine on original paint work but any bodyshop repaired panels go easy and keep the wheel moving the key is low r.p.ms and you wont burn that paint

I can buy a good quality angle grinder for £50 tops, the tool on the end is what does the work,

    toffee or caramel

pete, surely the speed of the angle grinder would melt the paint work as richard said above? do you find this?

Currently we try and get customers to remove vinyls where possible.

Dave, Angle grinders and drills now come with variable speed for different situations/ materials.

Just pointing out that there are alternatives to jags stuff

any way unless you are doing it on a regular basis, its just as quick if not quicker just to peel it off manually.

I once told a customer than he should use a bit of heat to assist in the removal the vinyl, He came back a few days later to see if we could cover up the marks made by his blowlamp!!
