Just thought I would post some of my work from last year, since you guys don’t know what I get up to when not stripping or singing 😳

This was done to prove a point, basically that you can ‘paint’ a picture using only vinyl. Can’t remember how many layers but there were alot, and yes it took some figuring out which colours went down first.
I was a brilliant exercise in combining/overlapping shapes. The castle was photographed, sketch done from that, scanned then vectorised to get close to the actual as possible.

All comments appreciated (good and bad)

    Cheers

    Looks good dave,
But proving a point is not always profitable!
How big was the sign? I notice that there is a lot of text on the scroll, and on its own that looks like it would have taken ages to do.

I sometimes do something that dosn’t earn, just to prove to myself that I can do it. So well done in that respect, but you need to ask…. would I do that again?

I know what you mean Pete, but my view was that it was a teaching project and an advert for my business, and it has certainly been well talked about. The customer came back for another one along the same lines but smaller and less text, and that one I made money on.

The sign is about 2m by 1m so the text is not that small.

    Thanks for the comments.

well done mate. I know how long this can take. An excellent learning tool tho. I was set a similar task when I was doing my training years ago. I still have nightmares 😳

Excellent work Dave, It’s the sort of job I love doing, much more satisfying than printing it :lol1: You can make money on jobs like this, as with everything else you get much quicker at it the more you do, and they can draw in a lot more business simply because they look more eyecatching
