  PC 600 Colour Correction

  I use Corel12 for most of my artwork.
  Colour management switched off.
  Printer set up in Corel to use printer colour correction and RCC set up for 600dpi, white vinyl, CYMK Resin,
  CYMK – Generic (others are available)
  RYB – Generic
  Grey Scale – Generic

  The printed colours come out much darker than the design.

  One other thing is why does it print black using all the colours then the black ribbon??

  Any help or suggestions appreciated.

  What software do you use to actually print with? Are you printing through the windows print manager or are you using a dedicated RIP program. The windows print manager is fairly limited in its ability to reproduce colours accurately – The PC600 has comes with a roland rip which may give better results.

  you`re printing in cmyk mode,

  you need to swich to spot colours. ( in yopur software, i used signlab to run mine)

  You should at least have RCC (Roland Colour Choice I think it is ) which is post script printing installed to get it to work correctly.
  As for printing pure black as said above you need your image to be CMYK and any black needs to be 100% K to use the black ribbon only.
  If you go to the Roland website and register there you can download manuals in PDF format f you don’t have any. You can also download Color choice there as well.

  As in the original post, I am using RCC. I’ll try the K=100%

  I think you may also find that it is to do with your monitor calibration as well. What you see is not what you get I’m afraid.

  I also used to print YMCK results seemed to be better. Jim Day (Roland)on the Roland web site had information posted there on the settings in RCC for best results. I have this somewhere if you want a copy.

  Unless you have colour management for your screen/printer what you see on the screen is not necessarily the same as the print out.

  you have trapping switched on also use spot colours then you know where you are i never got my monitor to match thermal print and remember that thermal printing gives a harsher look than inkjet.
