  Fitting a flood coated substrate..

  When installing a flood coated substrate is there anything I need to be aware of, i.e. am I likely to damage the vinyl when screwing into it.

  Possibly. If you are screwing through the panel, make sure you don’t overtighten the screw. Otherwise the vinyl may twist in the direction the screw is done up after a while. Best thing is to countersink the hole so the screw isn’t in contact with the vinyl.

  Thanks Andy – I think I’ll go with countersinking the hole to be safe.

  Hi Nathan

  We try to drill and countersink the hole before we floodcoat with vinyl, that way you don’t damage the vinyl with the drill.

  We then heat and push the vinyl into the countersink and pierce a hole for the screw to go through.

  When fitting, do up the screw almost all the way with the battery drill and do the last little bit by hand so as not to twist the vinyl.

  cover the screw head with a small circle of vinyl
