  • Cutting in mirror image – how to stop it?

Hello, Can anybody help. I am new to sign making and am having a problem, I am using Vinyl Master Pro 2.5 and have a Pcut 630 cutter. when I try to cut the cutter cuts everything in mirror image, the preview is the right way round. Is there a setting I can change to correct this. Many thanks. Mel Cooper.

i use VMP and dont have the prob you are having, once you send your file to the print spooler what you see is how it will cut, so if you are getting a mirror cut image it may be a setting on your cutter, i use a Graftec so a Pcut is unknown to me soz.

Try deleting the cutter completely, and re-loading. This worked for me with the Roland cutter.
It has occurred again recently, I can’t be bothered to mess around as above, so just click ‘mirror’ in the cut profile, so it looks as though it’s going to cut it mirrored, but doesn’t. (Clear as mud?)

Thanks for the tips. I have tried reinstalling the cutter, still the same. Must be something in the software. I tried with another software program that I have installed (which I don’t use because I dont like it) the cutter cuts the right way round with this program. I’ll do what you say and send them to spooler in mirror image then they cut the right way. Thanks again for your help.

Hi Mel, how did you get your P-Cut to work with VMPro? I’ve got a P-cut and all it cut with VMP was lines, what are your settings (in spooler settings)?
I use Signgo software, i would highly recommend for use with the P-Cut, you can also work on VMP and import it to Signgo.

Hi Glen, The settings I use in the spooler setup are:- Plotter Type HP-GL, Emulation mode :- Absolute, Serial Port, Com port 2, Configuration No1 D=8 SB=1 P=N F=x, Stop Bits 1, Data Bits 8, Flow control Xon-Xoff, Parity None, Baud rate 9600, Then carry out circle test, when successful update settings and all should be well. Also check baud rate of cutter, sometimes they default to 19200. Hope this helps.

    Regards Mel.
