  • Window tinting film suppliers please?

Posted by Jason Adams on 16 December 2005 at 10:16

    Hi there guys & Gals.

I am thinking of expanding a little, as I have a new premises of 900 sq Feet which means I can get three to four vehicles in doors now, instead of working in the cold. I am thinking of going into window tinting on top of signage as I have had so many people ask where I got my van done (did it myself).

Does anyone do window tinting on top of their signwriting? If so, can you recommend a good tint-film supplier? And maybe a few walk-throughs or tutorials on the net? I really think its a great idea, as we are based next door to two body shops, and the closest tint company is forty miles away.

Any ideas on this, any experience?

    -Jason.

instead of tackling the tinting business alone we formed a joint venture with a window tinting company. we are able to share all of our resources and, so far, this arrangement has worked very well for us and our partners for the last year. so for us an excellent experience

there is a tinting forum at http://www.tintdude.com, not sure if there are tutorials on there though.

Hi jason, we do window tinting on top of or as well as signage.

A good supplier of film is a company called vinyl logistics in nottingham, they import an excellent product called suntek from the usa.

I would seriously consider getting some training before attempting to do your customers vehicles.

There are lots of different techniques, for example we reomve wind down windows and tint them on a work bench, allowing us to cover the whole piece of glass; edge to edge.

    Thanks guys and Gals.

I appreciate the feedback. As for Vinyl Logistics, when I bought my DGI cutter, I was given some info on vinyl logistics, and tried to access their website and it was always under construction. So I went with Grafityp, Amari and Victory instead. But I will give them a call about the Suntek films. Thanks for the tip. You wouldn’t have their web address would you?

Do you have any idea where training can be given on tinting?
    Any good tips yourself?

    Kind regards

    Jason
