Can anyone recommend a reasonable price eyelet machine? We have a wide printer now, so want to print our own banners. Trouble is, to get them hemmed & eyeletted we have to send them 20 miles & back so it would be great to do it here.
    Anyone got feedback on this?

    Thanks guys!

you can buy hemming tape from grafityp. its double sided, just fold the hem and run over it with small hand held roller and its stuck.
self piercing eyelet machines? i have details of a company that contacted me 3 weeks ago at work. think they wanted about £160 for bench top pull down one. sorry, cant give more details on that… the one i use was bought from b&p (i think) i paid £225-£250 for the eyeletting machine. they also sell the self piercing eyelets.
another company i use now and again is http://www.dtpsupplies.com they offer a decent range too…

I got my eyeletting press from DTP as Robert suggest above, also the self-piercing eyelets come from them. I got it at SignUk, as they had a special offer on. Seem to remember spending £200 for both.
Tape is from Grafityp (EasyHem Tape), about a fiver a roll.

Just a suggestion but I find that taking a printed banner 24′ x 4′ to my local lorry sheet maker is the cheapest way by far, he charges me £10 for hemming (sewn) & eyelets. Always says come back tomorrow to collect.

This is far cheaper than doing it all yourself as we were doing & off course saves on buying more equipment as we had, sewing machine, eyelet machine etc.

i also have the leister HOT AIR banner welder and hemmer. been using it for nearly two years now… & will be showing a product test on this very soon. they are not the cheapest method as they come in at about £1600

Anyone looking for a grommet machine should look on Ebay. There is a woman on there that sells nothing but grommet machines and accessories. The price is less than half of my suppliers and is of good quality (looks like the same exact model sold from my suppliers). I recently bought one and it came with 3 dies (retail for $150 ea.) and 900 grommets and the press for only $160 shipped. To buy the same press with 3 dies would have cost over $500 elsewhere. The machine works great and would recommend the seller to anyone. Good luck!

Don’t suppose you know if she’s still doing them? Have been asked by a scaffolder who’s making studios for the ryder cup to put eyelets in black material they’re using for backgrounds…. any idea what I should charge anyone?!? Cheers!

ive been using the oracal tapes for around 4-5 years now, never saw the need to change. i have heard of some good new makes on the go these days, but its the old story, if its not broke why fix it. we get a good price on it too…

there are a good few eyleting machines on the go just now, shop around.. i think you will be looking at paying around £150’ish for one.
i have one but for the life of me cant remmebr where i got it. i do remember paying about £230-£250 though, that was about 2 years ago…
