We are now awaiting the arrival of our new versacamm sp540v using the new maxx inks. Now i have been told that rather than overlaminating prints for vehicle wrapping, a viable option would be to wrap the vehicle with unlaminated prints and then to coat all the graphics with frogjuice afterwards. Can you also get a wrapping film with the correct ICC profiles with a matched overlaminate?
This is going to be a major upgrade for us having been using the edge 2 and a couple of plotters up until now. So i am sure I will have many questions.

Frogjuice is evidently not recommended , there have been a few posts about it on the roland inkjet user boards (www.rolanddga.com) , the stuff pulls the inks off with application tapes as far as I remember and craquels in time.

I’ve outsourced some printing to a guy that uses a versacamm this past summer – prints were beautiful by the way

I used the uv protectant spray by 1shot
gave it a nice gloss so the colors popped out well (he didn’t want that matte look) and there haven’t been any problems as of yet
    *fingers crossed*

I’ve also used the frog juice (both spray and rolled on) in the past – all fine
but it does say right on the can that it shouldn’t be used for digital prints

I have heard that frog juice will never “cure” on digital prints….will always be slightly tacky.

    What about CLEARSHIELD?

I guess I’ll answer since I’m the one who stated it

I sure hope they do 😀
I thought the same about them,,,maybe gumming up a bit in the heat
But I did this in the summer and there didn’t seem to be any problems
and I had a few trucks to do – spaced out (he needed them painted) and I didn’t notice anything wrong with the first lam that was done approx. 4 weeks earlier

    here’s hoping
