Posted by ANDREW S on 2 November 2005 at 11:38Not a very exciting sign , however I’ve never attempted anything the involves digging and concrete !
Thanks to Rob’s demo – yes, you are an inspiration….ANDREW S replied 20 years ago 3 Members · 8 Replies -

Andrew welcome to world of hole digging!
My advice to you as to when this type of job becomes more frequent
and bigger is to get someone else to dig the holes.I do quite a few of these, but always use a gardening company who is
a customer of mine to dig the holes, and sometimes help erect the sign.I personally hate digging holes these guys have the holes dug before
I’ve even got the spade out of the van ( Horses for Courses)!!We did the one below yesterday they had 2 x 1300mm holes dug in
just over an hour.Lets hope it’s the first of many for you! well done.
Regards
Martin

It’s only 2′ high it was just the angle I took the photo from makes it
look bigger.Certainly didn’t mean to steal your thread, just coincidental it was fitted
yesterday and I thought I’d pass on some sound advice through my
experiences. What was Robs demo on, you mentioned, be interesting to see it?.

Thanks Andrew I’ll look that up!
I agree I see the demos and think I’ll give that a go, even after all these years still see some fantastic tips & tricks.
I emailed ‘Beej’ the airbrush wizard the other day after seeing his work
unbelievable!!!
I’ve got a couple of airbrushes got me first one in 78 done a bit but
never stuck with it, wish to god I had, beats digging holes for a living
or even getting the gardener to do it.How are you finding it working on your own and where are you based Andrew?

Hi Martin,
I’m based between Melton Mowbray and Nottingham, I have a small unit on a farm which seems to be working brilliant, because if the weather is poor when we do the vehicle graphics the landlord lets us use one of his workshops ( a aircraft hanger !)
Self employment …….. lots of up and downs and not much in bet tween but at times we are all guilty of taking things for granted…aren’t we ?
Seem to have plenty of work and interest so here’s to the future.
Enjoyed the thread on getting paid this morning as this is an issue sometimes I need to get sorted out.Cheers
Andrew
