Hi guys this is my first post here and after the purchase of my AW Airwave heat press I am looking into a printer for sublimation.

I have kept my eyes peeled on E-bay and the 1290 sells second hand for around £160 some even £280+

I recently looked at the R200 / R220 and saw thay they have 6 seperate tanks and a pretty good dpi. The problem is the smaller printer only prints onto A4 and not A3 like the 1290. But these R220’s can be picked up for £50 brand new!!!

So I am unsure if it’s worth spending the extra money on the 1290? My press is 15 x 15 so I guess it only depends on the images I am printing (that would be the logical answer I guess).

If I was only printing mugs I’d be laughing but that will come a few months later when I see how well the flat bed takes off.

    Thanks

    Andy.

Andy I would always advise you to go with the biggest printer you can afford, because you will only regret it later 👿
I have had an Epson 1290 for two years now and the print heads have finally given up the ghost. Been quoted £150 for new heads and to be honest its not worth it, just replace the printer 😮

    Thanks buddy!

    I just hope I don’t buy a printer with a dodgy print head 🙄

    I’ll stick with the 1290
