I have to make a few signs for villas in Italy, they will be fairly small and oval in shape around 400 mm wide and will be exposed to extreme variations in temperature. Do you think foamex will be suitable and what thickness would you recommend? I would also like to edge them in something but haven’t a clue as to what to use. Any advise would be gratefully received.
    Where can I buy foamex?

forget foamex, go for fibreglass, or wood, fibre glass blanks can be bought from several firms, wood is easy to fashion and coat yourself,
or you could go for ali or even dibond, providing you put a nice border around it.

Paul I made some foamex signs to go in the side windows of a car this year, when it was very hot they melted! so properly not the best thing to use!

    Paul,

found this site that does oval blanks in GRP with a nice edge to them.
