  Does anyone make their own liquid laminate?

  Hi all,
  I recently seen a sign maker using clear lacquer from a car shop on Gerber Edge signs and wondered if I could use the same type of spray for laminating prints from the VersaCamm. Any ideas?
  Does anyone make their own liquid laminate?

  Hi Glenn,

  The automotive clear lacquers in aerosols do a good job as long as you leave the print for a day to dry before you clear coat. I have made my own using clear acrylic lacquer with a product called FlexiAdd (about 10-15%) it adds flexibility strangely enough. 😀
  Without it the prints tend to develop cracks when dried. Of course you need a compressor and spray gun to apply.

  personal experience says you can not use a liquid laminate and transfer tape on solvent type prints. i think that i tried the lot cheep and dear before i gave up and bought a laminator on thermal prints i never had a problem.
  if the print is on the substrate then lacquer it like a bike faring no problem.
