  • cannot see through application tape?

Posted by Nathan on 10 September 2005 at 13:39

I’m starting to do some frosted work over the next couple of weeks but after doing a couple of tests have come up against a problem. I’m using oracal paper application tape and can’t see any outlines through it to trim it or to align it, would using a transluscent application tape resolve this problem or would I be wasting my money?

    Thanks

ide say it would have to be better visual wise… but i hate the stuff so cant comment. it does do a good job, dont get me wrong, i just hate the feel and how it reacts when being applied etc…
many folk use the transparent stuff, if your buying from europoint for oracal, they also do the clear stuff, saying that, many vinyl companies do too…

Now solved. I took a wax crayon and rubbed over the paper application tape, this let me see the text and graphic in order for me to trim and align.

Try doing a pencil rubbing on the application tape, this will bring up the outlines and save you the trouble of getting the clear stuff.
