    Hi

If any of you guys are using the Gerber software Macimprint then I would be happy to hear from you. As per usual, Spandex are proving to be absolutely worthless on anything which doesn’t include vinyl !!!!!!!!

Look forward to hearing from anybody with knowledge of this product.

    😉

Went down this road a few years ago, buying the card, cable and software etc.

Any images printed directly from Illustrator are much better quality than the Omega rip.

But getting to print anything over the 300mmplit area was a real pain. Might print one day reopen the file and it will not print. The panelling was the area that seemed to cause all the problems. there was a work around, but it was not worth all the efffort in the end. Alway sfound the edge better to be on its own PC, crash the mac or pc whilst it is printing and its start over again. So we keep our gerber on its own PC still running windows 95 !!!! It isnt broke, never crashes, so there is nothing to fix!!!!. Never goes on the Web either.

The other problem is the work space area in Illustrator is limited to I think form memory 5035mm, it means you can’t panel big signs at all!!!.

If you take a look on Spandex US or the OZ site they are still promoting Macimprint2, this looks and sound much better than I have tried in the past with direct to print toocut avoiding layers( i think)

let me know what you would like to know…..

went to the first ever training session [by Spandex] for MacImprint on Gerber Edge…..
    things haven’t changed then……..

I like it though……. mainly because it works as a plug in for illustrator

    Cheers
