there seems to be a few more in CPC now and getting cheaper http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch … 2501&N=411

I haven’t got the model we bought, but it fires a laser, its a good duty case and I checked it with the heaters on the JV3, spot on temp. Not certain but I understand the laser is for guidance and it reads it with infrared sensor I could be wrong.

Just had a thought on these things…..

What would be nice is a “childs thermometer” sort of thing. The ones you stick on kids foreheads when they are ill. If they manufacture them up to 100deg C then you could stick them on the vinyl in the area you are heating up and you would get instant readout whilst keeping both hands free.

    Any thoughts?

    I’d go here http://www.thermometersdirect.co.uk/cat27_1.htm

£25 for a full laser jobbie- got mine last week and it’s fine- only reads in celcius not farenheit but it’s easy enough to convert- roughly twice the celcius +30 gets you an approx farenheit.

I use mine for checking temps for acrylic fabrication but it’ll come in handy for wrap jobs.

I’d get a wriggle on if you want one- don’t think he’s got many left at this price.
