For me it’s HEXIS for everything. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much everything and Hexis stuff is the only one that’s never let me down- that’s after 10 years of using it.
The only real stinker is/ was Fasson- it might be Avery now but the economy range of that was total *&£!

John, 751c will do everything you suggested here, but you could get away with 551 for flat signage to save a bit of expense.
It means carrying extra stock tho, so until it gets busy for you, I’d suggest staying with 751 for everything.

nearly everything i do is oracle 651, i have a number of other vinyls i bought as a job lot, most of them are fine too, but i just like using the 651, inexpensive and does a good job, though for future vans etc i will probably be moving over to 751c.

I’ve moved over from the Avery 900 range (which is amazing stuff, but pricey) to Oracle 751 for just about everything except vinyl banners.
Australian Sign Supplies do the Oracle and the difference in service between them and Spandex who do the Avery is very noticable.
I like to think that for the added expense on our part we are giving the customer a better quality product that will last longer and look better than if we use the lesser quality vinyls.
I’d actually probably still charge them the same if I did use the lesser vinyls as you spend the same amount of time and effort, so I guess it’s peace of mind for me as well.

I am a big fan of Australian Sign Supplies too Simon. If I ‘have’ to part with any money, I like the people taking my money to at least smile as they whip it off me. Spandex are way behind in the ‘appreciation’ stakes in my book.

MacTac for everything except printing…
use MD5 for that. The 9800 range is very good and a few new colours just been added. Also a new bubble free 9800 coming out soon.
Cheers

For flat signage I use Avery 800
Avery 500 (economy range) is perfect for short-term signage like exhibitions John, I have used a lot of the Mat version, it doesn’t reflect to much (you know the spots can make things unreadable on gloss) and it is removable, so after the exhibition you can easily remove vinyl of exhibitionwalls and replace it with a new colour for the next customer.
Also when using shellschemes of the tradeshow organizers you somethimes may apply stickers to the wall but only as you leave it clean at the end of the show, Avery 500 EM does the job.Have seen some very nice work done with the MacTac vinyls, but next week I will have a complicated job and will be using Avery 900 (because I want to be using one brand) for that, will post some about it later.
